Therefore, as of the v.2022.2.0 Accounting CS release, your firm should have SQL Server 2014 or higher installed on the servers that run Accounting CS. General

  • We have addressed an issue that, in certain circumstances, prevented the Data Sharing Updates dialog from displaying for certain staff members when opening the application.

Workpapers CS

  • We have updated the Tax Return engagement binder templates for the 2022 tax year. Details

General - Payroll

  • Maine. The Maine Department of Labor has increased the Unemployment program administrative fund (UPAF) rate to 0.15%, effective January 1, 2023. Accordingly, the rate defaults to 0.15% in the Unemployment Rate dialog (accessed via the Payroll Taxes tab of the Setup > Clients screen) for new client records and when new unemployment rate records are added to existing clients.

Accounting CS Payroll, for live payroll processing

In addition to any changes made for general payroll features listed above for after-the-fact payroll processing, the following changes have been made for the live payroll processing features specific to Accounting CS Payroll.

Payroll compliance

  • We have updated the years available for Corrected Forms 941-X, 943-X, 944-X, and 945-X to match the years available for Reconciliation Forms 94x. (Idea Incubator #5927)

Accounting CS stores up to four total years of year-specific reconciliation type forms.

  • Michigan locals. The City of Muskegon Heights now requires all employers to file Form W-2 Copy 1 electronically and will no longer accept paper copies of the form. Therefore, we have removed the Paper filing method and added the Internet method.
