With Accounting CS Client Access, authorized staff in your client's office can record their day-to-day accounting and payroll transactions in the same database that you use to process their data. With customizable security options, you can offer your clients a powerful application that provides all of the data entry options and information that they need, while you maintain control over the options and information that they don't.
Accounting CS also has comprehensive security defaults to assure your clients cannot see any of your other clients' data or your firm's data. In addition, there are some features that enable your firm to handle those tasks that are considered the accountant's role or responsibility. Even if a client's staff security group has been set up with full privileges, there are certain screens and functions that are not available in Accounting CS Client Access as they are a function of the professional accountant. The tables below indicate which features are available to your clients when you enable Client Access for your clients.
Notes
- The features and functions available to the client in Accounting CS Client Access depend on the services that you enable for the client. Regardless of the firm’s license, you can enable any of the Client Access services for your client. However, it may limit the processing that you can perform for the client.\
For example, if your firm is licensed only for the Accounting service, you can still enable to the payroll functionality for the client. However, you will not be able perform the payroll functions on behalf of your client or generate tax forms for your clients.
If your firm is licensed for the Payroll and Payroll (After-the-Fact) services, you can enable full payroll functionality for the client in Accounting CS Client Access, with the option to perform the payroll tasks on behalf of your client at any time.
- Most of the standard reports are available to both you and your clients, but some of the standard reports are only available for your firm. All custom reports can be made available to your clients on the Setup > Firm Information > Client Security Groups screen.
The client cannot modify or delete any transactions that are entered by the accounting firm.
