Add or Delete Initial Open Items

Choose Actions > Reconcile Bank Accounts or Actions > Reconcile Impound Bank Accounts and then Edit > Initial Open Items to add or delete an Initial Open Item.

Add an initial open item

  1. In the Open Item Detail, enter in transit or outstanding item(s) from the last bank reconciliation that was created in a different application.
  2. Pick the type, enter the date and amount. The Reference, ID, Payee/Description are helpful and optional.
  3. Click the Add button to save.
  4. Click Done when all initial open items are entered.

If you have a lot of transactions to enter, you can enter the sum of the transactions that are cleared on the reconciliation you are currently working in and then enter the rest of the transactions individually.

Delete an initial open item

  1. In the Initial Open Item Dialog, highlight the adjustment row you would like to remove by clicking on the box to the left of the Type column.
  2. Click the Delete button.
  3. Click Done when finished.

Note: To remove an initial open item from a finalized reconciliation or from a prior period, you first need to unfinalize the reconciliation.
