We recommend that you consult a qualified IT professional before modifying your registry as serious problems with your operating system can result if your registry is damaged.

Users must be given full control over the following registry folders and all descendants.

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office

Note: You may receive a message indicating that some entries in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes folder cannot be updated. When this occurs, verify that the permissions for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\CLSID folder are set to full control.
