Important!

As of June 1, 2017, Thomson Reuters no longer provides support for Client Bookkeeping Solution. On that date we discontinued phone and email support and we no longer provide application updates. For more information, see the following topics.

The NetFirm administrator, or any NetStaff login that has been assigned NetClient CS administrative rights, has the ability to create new CBS ASP companies, delete CBS ASP companies or update the status and mailing address of existing CBS ASP companies directly without having to contact Customer Service.

Adding a new CBS ASP company

  1. Log in to your administrator NetStaff account.
  2. Click on the Administration dashboard and select the NetClient CS Users link.
  3. Click on the Users link.
  4. Locate your CBS User in the "NetClient CS Users" list.
  5. Look for Virtual Client Office (CS) link and click Enable.
  6. Select the Product (CBS). The Data location will auto fill when you select CBS.
  7. Select the CBS Client.
  8. Click the Enter button in the bottom right hand corner to save the changes.

Once the CBS ASP client is created, you can give any NetClient CS portal account permission to access that CBS ASP client. You also need to open CS Professional Suite - Accounting (CSA) and re-download the licenses to update the master license in CSA.

Note: If you own CSA on Virtual Office CS, the license will be downloaded overnight for you by the Virtual Office CS Administrative Team.

Deleting an existing CBS ASP company

If you are deleting the CBS company, back up the data locally before making the changes.

If the client will no longer be using CBS in any capacity, you can delete the company:

  1. Log in to your administrator NetStaff account.
  2. Click on the Administration dashboard and select the NetClient CS Users link.
  3. Click the CBS Clients link.
  4. Highlight the client in the CBS Clients list.
  5. Click the Delete button in the line item for the CBS company you wish to delete.
  6. Click OK to the warning. The CBS company will be removed from this list and from any portals that had permissions to that company.

If your client has access to only one CBS company, you will need to disable the Virtual Client Office (CS) feature or delete the login all together.

  1. Log in to your administrator NetStaff account.
  2. Click on the Administration dashboard and select the NetClient CS Users link.
  3. Click on the Users Link.
  4. Highlight the NetClient CS Users login.
  5. Click Disable for the Virtual Client Office (CS) link or delete the NetClientCS User login entirely.

Modifying an existing CBS ASP company

Follow the steps below to update the Company address information.  To change the CBS company from ASP to a Local installation, see Switching a CBS ASP Client to a Local Installation of Client Bookkeeping Solution (CBS).

  1. Log in to your administrator NetStaff account.
  2. Click on the Administration dashboard and select the NetClient CS Users link.
  3. Click the CBS Clients link.
  4. Highlight the CBS Client.
  5. Edit the CBS Type (ASP or Local), Address or Phone Number as needed, on the right hand side of the screen, and click Enter.

Note:

  • If you are changing the status from ASP to Local, back up the data locally before making the changes.
  • You also need to open CS Professional Suite - Accounting (CSA) and re-download the licenses to update the master license in CSA. The licenses are available for download within 15 minutes. If you own CSA on Virtual Office CS, the licenses will be downloaded overnight for you by the Virtual Office CS Administrative Team.
  • If you need to change the Company name, you will need to contact Customer Service (see notes in the Edit screen for details). Once customer service updates the name, there will be an overnight process required to run before the name is updated in the portal.
  • You can edit the type from Local to ASP. You can edit the type of an ASP company that was previously Local from ASP back to Local. You cannot change a company that you created in the NetClient to Local; you will need to contact Customer Service.

Adding the information to your NetStaff Login

If you are looking to add this to your NetStaff login so that you can see your CBS ASP clients do the following:

  1. Log in to your administrator NetStaff account.
  2. Click on the Administration dashboard and select the NetStaff CS Users link.
  3. Click the User in which you would like to add the CBS Clients link.
  4. Click the enable next to CBS.
  5. Click the CBS clients you would like to view on your NetStaff dashboard.
  6. Click Enter.
