Font tab
Choose the appropriate options within the Font tab of the Format Cells dialog to change the appearance of the text in the selected cell(s). You may specify the typeface, style, size, the type of underlining, and the color. You may also select strikethrough text or all uppercase letters by marking the appropriate checkbox.

Number tab
Use the drop-down list fields in the Number tab to define how the numbers should appear in the selected cell(s).

• Choose how the $ or % symbol is to be displayed (none, floating $, fixed $, or standard %).
• Specify how negative numbers are to be displayed (negative sign, negative sign-red, parentheses,
  parentheses-red).
• Specify the decimal precision to use (from 0 to 5 decimal places).
• Define how zero amounts are to be shown (0.00, blank, or dash).

Alignment tab
Use the Alignment tab to specify where in the cell data should appear. You can specify the horizontal and vertical alignments as well as the distance to indent.

Line properties
In the line properties box, you can specify the color and style of the border by clicking the appropriate choices. Define the line width by clicking the up > down arrows in the Width field.

Border
In this section of the dialog, you can specify where in the cell(s) you would like the border(s) to appear. The currently selected border style appears in the preview window on this side of the dialog. The buttons above the preview window apply some of the standard border formats to the cell(s). To add or remove additional lines, or to specify your own border format, click the buttons to the left of the preview window.

Pattern
Click the pattern with which you would like to shade the selected cell(s).

Color
Click the color with which you would like to shade the selected cell(s).

Choose Format > Column Width to adjust the column width of a single column (click the column heading button to select the desired column). Click the gray button in the top left corner of the Financial Statement Editor worksheet to select all columns in the worksheet, and then choose Format > Column Width to change the width of all columns in the worksheet. You may also choose one row (row mode) to change the width of all columns in the worksheet.

Click a single cell or row number button, and then choose Format > Row Height to change the row height of the selected row. Or, click the blank gray button in the top left corner of the Financial Statement Editor worksheet to highlight all rows in the worksheet, and then choose Format > Row Height to change the height of all the rows in the worksheet at one time.

Click this button on the toolbar or choose Format > Merge and Center Cells to merge the selected cells into one cell and set the text alignment center.
