Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

Text variables are used in creating Financial Statements and Transmittal Letters.

  1. Choose Setup > System Configuration> Text Variables.
  2. In the Text Variables dialog, highlight the variable to update and click Edit.
  3. In the Text field, enter the text string that the variable is to represent.
  4. Click Enter to save the information.
  5. Click Done to close the dialog.
  6. To insert text variables, open the Financial Statement Editor or the Transmittal Letter Editor and select the statement or document.
  7. Choose Insert > Variable.
  8. In the Variables dialog, select the Text option.
  9. Highlight the text variable to insert and then click OK to insert it at the cursor location. The variable will appear in bracketed red letters in the letter or statement editor.

When you print or preview the letter or statement, the variable will be replaced by the text.
