Excel documents within Engagement CS are displaying #VALUE instead of the linked Trial Balance data.

A Microsoft Office update for 2016 (desktop) and 365 (subscription), Version 1708 (Build 8431.2079) has caused the Creative Solutions Accounting Add-In within Engagement CS to display #VALUE instead of the linked Trial Balance data when opening Excel documents.

This issue can be easily remedied by downloading the latest Microsoft Office Update.

Note for Office 365® users: Our applications integrate with Office 365 when the Office desktop applications are fully installed on the local computer.

To correct this issue, we have updated the addin file, CSAAddIn.xla, for Engagement CS Office documents.

You should perform these steps at each staff's desktop that accesses Engagement CS.

We highly advise that you work with a qualified IT professional to assist you with the following steps to update the CSAAddin.xla file.

  1. Download the CSAAddIn.zip file and save to a convenient location.
  2. When the download is complete, extract the CSAAddIn.xla from the zipped file.
  3. Exit out of Engagement CS and Creative Solutions Accounting.
  4. Browse out to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Creative Solutions and rename CSAAddIn.xla to CSAAddIn.xlaOLD.
  5. Copy the extracted CSAAddIn.xla file into the same folder.

The 32-bit version of Microsoft Office 2016, 2013, 2010, or 2007 is required to take advantage of integration with Office applications and other features.
