Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

When you are ready to prepare and file your forms, follow the steps below to create an unemployment or withholding file for your specific form.

Forms UC-CR-4 and UC-CR-4A

  1. Choose File > Print when the Alabama Payroll Tax Processing window is active.
  2. Mark the Create SUTA file checkbox and then click OK.
  3. Choose File > SUTA File Utilities to do any of the following:
    • Combine Files
    • Preview Files
    • Verify
    • Remove Client
    • Save to Submittable Format
    • Restore from Submittable Format
    • Change Transmitter Information
    • Generate Transmittal Sheet
  4. Select File > SUTA File Utilities > Save to Submittable Format, choose the file location, and then click OK.

    Notes

    • When a SUTA file is created, it is automatically encrypted for security. Before submitting the file to the appropriate agency you must use the Save to Submittable Format command, at which point the files are decrypted.
    • The file format is 80-byte bulk format.
  5. Navigate to the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations website, find the eGov web page, and log in.
  6. Click the Bulk Filing Upload link.

Before you can send your file, you must apply for the ability to do so within the eGov website. You will also need to register for POA/PIN numbers.

Forms A-1, A-3, and A-6

  1. Choose Setup > Supplemental Information when the Alabama Payroll Tax Processing window is active.
  2. Click the E-filing tab, enter the appropriate information, and then click OK.
  3. Choose File > Print to open the Print dialog.
  4. Mark the Create W/H file checkbox and then click OK.
  5. In the Create AL W/H File dialog, choose the form you want to file electronically and then click OK.

    • Form A-3
    • Form A-6
  6. Choose File > W/H File Utilities > ‹Form› to do any of the following:
    • Combine Files
    • Preview Files
    • Remove Clients
    • Save to Submittable Format
    • Restore from Submittable Format
  7. Choose File > W/H File Utilities > ‹Form› > Save to Submittable Format, choose the file location, and then click OK.

    Notes

    • When a withholding file is created, it is automatically encrypted for security. Before submitting the file to the appropriate agency you must use the Save to Submittable Format command, at which point the files are decrypted.
    • The file format is comma-delimited.
  8. Navigate to the Alabama Department of Revenue website, find the Withholding Tax Electronic Filing & Payment System web page, and log in.
  9. Choose Third Party Bulk File for Clients to E-File.


  • You must register with the Alabama Department of Revenue as a bulk filer prior to sending your A-1, A-3, or A-6 files.
  • CSA does not enter a payment date in the file. Alabama does not require this field.
