Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

If you file your Indiana payroll tax forms via electronic media, you can create an Indiana merit rate input file to verify that your clients have the correct merit rate information.

To create the Indiana merit rate input file:

  1. Choose Utilities > Global Payroll Tax Processing.
  2. On the Products tab of the Global Payroll Tax Processing dialog, mark the checkbox for Indiana Payroll Tax.
  3. On the Clients tab, specify which clients to process. To process information for all clients, click the Print all clients option. To process selected clients only, click the Print selected clients option and select the clients to process.
  4. On the Forms tab, mark the Process Indiana merit rate checkbox.
  5. To retrieve the data and create your file, click the Retrieve and Print button.
  6. To preview the file, choose Indiana Merit Rate Input File Utilities > Preview file from the File menu of the Global Payroll Tax Processing dialog.
  7. To save the file to diskette as required by the State of Indiana, choose Indiana Merit Rate Input File Utilities > Save file to another location from the File menu of the Global Payroll Tax Processing dialog. In the Save Indiana Merit Rate Input File To Location dialog, specify the desired location and click OK.
