Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

Note: The IRS does not currently accept Form 1099 Copy A and 1096 on blank paper. You will need to use the pre-printed red scannable forms.

Verify your version of CSA

Verify that you have installed the most recent version of Creative Solutions Accounting and that you have downloaded and applied all application updates via CS Connect. Form and tax tables updates are released as we receive them.

Download the 2012 version of AccuWage

The SSA provides an application called AccuWage, which scans your W-2 files. The AccuWage application is available for download from the Social Security Administration's website at www.ssa.gov/employer/accuwage/ to verify file structure for W-2 files. The AccuWage application identifies most of the common format errors in wage submissions. Using this application greatly reduces submission rejections and is very easy to use.

Make a backup of the data for each client prior to closing the year

To back up your client information, open the client in CSA and choose File > Backup.
