Setting up global items for payroll in CSA

Because of certain data dependencies, you must use the following order when setting up global information for Payroll CS or after-the-fact payroll and when setting up a new client.

Global Setup (setup items that affect all clients):

  • Accruable Benefits [Setup menu, System Configuration]
  • Localities [Setup menu, System Configuration, Payroll Tax Information]
  • Deduction Items [Setup menu, System Configuration]
  • Pay Items [Setup menu, System Configuration]
  • Withholding Items [Setup menu, System Configuration]

    Note: The application ships with federal and state setup information, but you may need to enter information for localities and update federal and state information as tax laws change.

  • 1099 Items [Setup menu, System Configuration]
  • Layout Editor [Setup menu, System Configuration]

Notes

  • The application includes numerous default check layouts.
