To open the Analyze Difference dialog, click the Details button in the Analyze grid of the Indirect / Direct Cash Flow Worksheet dialog.
Note: Using the following methods you can quickly assign the entire amount showing in the Difference field in the Balance grid to a selected cash flow line without manually entering it in the Analyze grid.
- Double-click in the amount field of the Analyze grid for a selected item.
- Right-click and choose Assign Balance.
Fields & buttons
Depending on the Grouping Type selected when the cash flow worksheet was set up, the Balance grid displays the prior period and current period balances for the selected line item in the cash flow worksheet. The amount in the Amount Explained cell updates automatically based on what amounts are entered in the Analyze grid.
Provides a way to filter what is displayed in the Analyze grid. Select one of the following cash flow line types to display.
- All <default>
- Operating Activities <Displays all OA items>
- Investing Activities <Displays all IA items>
- Financing Activities <Displays all FA items>
- NonCash Activities <Displays all NonCash items>
- NonCash Operating Activities <Displays all NonCashOA items>
Note: When you add a new cash flow line in the grid and have filtered for a single type of cash flow line (other than All), the new line will automatically default to the type that was selected. Conversely, when you select All types to display in the grid, you have the option to select any type from the available drop-down list in the new line.
Lists all of the available cash flow lines based on the cash flow lines that have been selected to display in the grid.
Select the line item that you want to analyze and enter an amount in the cell next to the description. You can double-click on the amount cell to automatically insert the remaining difference in that line.
Notes
- Net Income-NI is displayed in the Analyze grid at all times and cannot be deleted.
- You can drag and drop highlighted cash flow lines in the grid.
To add an item in the Analyze grid, click the Add button to enter a new cash flow line in the last line of the grid and then enter a description for the item in the Description field.
To delete selected rows in the Analyze grid, click the Delete button and then click Yes in the confirmation dialog.
