CS Connect provides Creative Solutions Accounting users with a convenient and economical way to download and apply licenses and application updates for all CSA applications and to send or retrieve other important data.
Choose File > CS Connect, or click the button on the toolbar.

Options tab fields & buttons
Choose one of the following options:
- Call now. Click this option to place an immediate call to the servers at our network of secure data centers to retrieve updates or other selected types of information currently available for download or to transmit selected information (as specified in the Purpose of this call section of this dialog).
- Apply updates now. Click this option to begin applying application updates that have already been downloaded.
- Apply updates later. Click this option to specify the exact date and time to begin applying updates that have already been downloaded to your installation of CSA.
Opens the user bulletin(s) associated with any application updates currently available for download via CS Connect so that you may preview the update information prior to downloading and applying the update(s).
You may mark one or more of the following checkboxes to indicate the purpose of your next call via CS Connect.
- Software (for all CSA users)
- Retrieve available updates
Note: This checkbox enables group members to retrieve CS Connect updates at any time. When this checkbox is left unmarked, updates can be selectively pushed to staff members at a time that is most convenient for them. This is especially helpful when multiple staff are working in the field in Engagement CS. For details, refer to the Engagement CS frequently asked question (FAQ) that discusses retrieving CS Connect updates in Engagement CS.
- Electronic filing (for Payroll CS or Write-Up CS users)
- Transmit returns ($ chargeable)
- Retrieve acknowledgements
- Recall transmitted returns
- NetClient CS (for Payroll CS users)
- Transmit remote payroll entry
- Transmit remote checks
- Retrieve remote payroll entry
- Web Employee (for Payroll CS or Write-Up CS users)
- Transmit W-2s ($ chargeable)
- Transmit check information ($ chargeable)
- Transmit W-4 information ($ chargeable)
- Retrieve W-4 information ($ chargeable)
- Transmit portal employee deletions
- Transmit portal client deletions
- Third-Party Workers' Compensation (For Payroll CS users transmitting or retrieving encrypted files through one of the pay-as-you-go workers' compensation insurance programs - InsurePay or XactPAY from The Hartford.)
- Retrieve consent files (and, for InsurePay workers, retrieve acknowledgement files)
- Transmit setup files
- Transmit weekly files
- The Online 401(k) (for Payroll CS users transmitting encrypted files)
- Verify firm status (displays if firm status has not yet been verified) or
- Transmit files (displays once firm status has been verified)
- E-Verify (for Payroll CS users)
- Retrieve E-Verify status
- Transmit E-Verify close files
- Transmit E-Verify files
- Licenses (for all CSA users)
- Other button and checkbox. To open the Other Options dialog where you may choose to transmit client data to CS Support, click the Other button. Note that the checkbox to the right of the Other button is automatically marked if any settings within the Other Options dialog are currently selected.
Opens the Communications Setup dialog, where you may specify communications settings to enable transmission of electronic files to and from your CS Professional Suite application.
You need to configure these settings just once - either from your Creative Solutions Accounting application or from your other CS Professional Suite applications.
Note: Your current setup selection is shown in the Access via display field on this dialog.
Displays the type of communications connection currently specified for this installation of CS Connect (via the Communications Setup dialog).
Electronic Filing tab fields & buttons
You can choose to send all queued returns when the Call Now button is clicked by leaving this option set to the default to Send all queued information.
If you want to select specific returns to queue for transmission, choose the Send selected queued information option and then double-click the desired returns that display in the left (available) pane.
All returns currently available to queue for transmission are listed here except those already selected for transmission in the Clients selected to send pane.
Double-click a return to select it for transmission or click the Select All button to select all the returns listed.
All returns currently selected for transmittal are listed here.
To move a return back to the Clients available to send pane, double-click the return or click the Remove All button to deselect all the returns.
Electronic Filing Recall tab fields & buttons
All transmitted files that are qualified to be recalled are listed here, except those already listed in the Clients queued to recall pane.
Double-click a return to select it for recall or click the Select All button to select all the returns listed.

To move a return back to the Clients available to recall pane, double-click the return or click the Remove All button to deselect all the returns.
