The Payroll Reporter module enables you to create an unlimited number of custom reports for employee-based data in Payroll CS. Custom reports are global and thus available for use with all of your clients and can include values and formulas that you define.

From the CSA main window choose Setup > System Configuration > Custom Reports to add, copy, edit, or delete a custom report.

Special information

  • Setup Example 1 in the Payroll CS Tutorial provides an example setup of a custom payroll report. (An active Internet connection is required to open this guide in the Adobe Reader.)
  • You can create an unlimited number of custom reports in Payroll CS.
  • When designing a report, you can define fields to be included and specify the order in which they appear.
  • If a value you want to include is not available for selection in the Custom Report Layout dialog, you can create a formula using values from the system in combination with values that you enter.
  • You can customize the appearance of any system-generated or user-defined column in a custom report by:
    • including/excluding totals for numeric columns
    • omitting information when a column's calculation would be zero for an employee
    • hiding columns that provide totals used for intermediate calculations in the custom report
  • Each custom report automatically shifts from portrait to landscape to export format as necessary when you specify additional columns or choose a larger font size.
  • For licensed users of Payroll Reporter, custom reports are available for any payroll client. Portrait or landscape format reports are listed in the Custom tab of the File > Print Reports dialog. All custom reports (portrait, landscape, and export format) are also available from the Utilities > Export dialog.
