Choose Restore from the File menu to restore the open client or multiple selected clients from previously saved backup files, to restore global data (affecting all clients) from backups, or to restore update files for the application from backup files.

For licensed users of FileCabinet CS: To set up automatic backups of your client data to FileCabinet CS, choose Setup > System Configuration > Administration, and then click the FileCabinet tab.

Choose Restore from the File menu.

  • To restore client data: Choose Clients from the drop-down list in the first field in the Restore dialog. Double-click one or more of the clients listed in the left (Available) pane to move them to the right (Selected) pane, or click the Select All button. The open client (if any) is automatically listed in the Selected pane. Click the Restore button.

When restoring a backup that uses multiple diskettes, you must insert the first diskette in the sequence to start the restore process. You will be prompted to insert the last diskette in the series to calculate the total number of diskettes used for the backup. After determining the number of diskettes, you are prompted to insert each diskette one at a time, beginning with the first disk.

  • To restore global data (applicable to all clients): Choose System Data from the drop-down list in the first field in the Restore dialog. Click the Select All button to move each global data item from the Available to the Selected pane, and then click the Restore button.
  • To restore update files for the application: Choose Updates from the drop-down list in the first field in the Restore dialog. Click the Select All button to move each application update file from the Available to the Selected pane, and then click the Restore button.
