The Column Title dialog allows you to specify the information to be imported for each column in the Import grid.
The column title specifies where the data from the selected column is to be placed when the spreadsheet information is imported into CSA.
From the Tasks > Payroll Check Entry window, choose Edit > Excel Time Entry Import. Enter or browse for the file you want to import and then click the Import button. Double-click on a column title to open the Column Title dialog.
Special information
- Each column title must be unique and can only be used once in the Import grid.
- You may use any column order within the Import grid. If each column title has been identified correctly, the data will flow to the appropriate fields within the CSA Payroll Check Entry window.
Fields & buttons
The options available to select for the type of information in the specified column are:
- Pay Items
- Deduction Items
The list items below those options vary depending on the payroll item type you have selected.
Select a payroll item type and then highlight the information to be imported for that column. Click OK to save your choices and close the dialog.
Notes
- When Pay Items is selected, <Primary pay item> is available in the list. This refers to the first pay item listed for that employee.
- When Deduction Items is selected, <Primary deduction item> is available in the list. This refers to the first deduction item listed for that employee.
You must choose a type when the Pay Items option is selected. The type determines where the data is placed on the check. For example, it specifies if the pay item should be entered as regular hours, overtime hours, doubletime hours, pieces (for piecework payroll clients only), as a specific amount, as an override rate (for this paycheck only), or as a new rate (which will change the rate for this paycheck and also update the employee record for future paychecks).
This field is unavailable if the Deduction Items option is selected.
