Important reminder!

Licenses for Payroll CS, Trial Balance CS, and Write-Up CS (but not Engagement CS) permanently expired on March 1, 2017. CSA will not include 2017 tax rates or payroll forms, so, for 2017 and beyond, you will need to process payroll in another application. We recommend Accounting CS Payroll and myPay Solutions. For more information, see the following topics.

The Retrieve Payroll Data dialog allows you to easily retrieve employee payroll information from the client database for processing state payroll tax forms.

Choose Payroll Tax Processing from the Utilities menu, and then either click the applicable state flag icon on the shortcut bar or choose it from the View menu. Choose Retrieve Payroll Information from the Tasks menu while any payroll tax form is currently selected.

Notes

  • You can also enter payroll information manually on the displayed payroll tax form, overriding automatically retrieved data. To delete overridden data, choose Overrides from the Edit menu while the form window is active, and then select the applicable override option.
  • For state forms that require 1099 information, you will need to enter that information manually (it cannot be retrieved automatically).

For each state that you will be processing for a client, you must first enter the two-character state postal code in the Payroll tab of the File > Client Properties dialog.

To have the program calculate SUTA amounts and the SUTA Worksheet report, the state field must be completed in the Other tab of the Setup > Employees window for the applicable state(s) for each employee.

If you are processing a monthly form, be sure to select a month from the Month drop-down list as well as the period in this dialog, otherwise no information will be retrieved.
