You can use divisions to refine trial balance views and for reporting purposes. For example, you could define divisions for locations, departments, units, funds, projects, cost centers, activities, and so on.

Note: You can use divisions only with engagements that you have designated to use a Divisional account structure.

To create a division, follow these steps.

  1. Click the Trial Balance tab in the workspace and then click the Divisions button.
  2. Click the Add button in the Divisions dialog.
  3. Enter any character value in the Division field.
  4. Enter a description in the Description field and click OK.
  5. Click OK to close the Divisions dialog.
