Follow these steps to view or edit a workpaper.

Viewing a workpaper

To view a read-only version of a workpaper, follow these steps.

  1. In the Workpapers tab, right-click the workpaper that you want to view and choose View from the context menu.

    Note: To collapse or expand a folder in the Workpapers tab, right-click the folder and choose Collapse or Expand from the context menu.

  2. Click the Open option in the dialog that . A read-only version of the workpaper opens in the AdvanceFlow document viewer
  3. When you are finished viewing the document, click the close button in the upper-right corner of the window.

You can view the status of a workpaper in the Status column of the Workpapers workspace. If the Status column is not visible, you can add it by clicking the Preferences button in the toolbar, clicking the Status in the Available Columns pane, clicking the right arrow button, and then clicking OK.

Editing a workpaper

To edit workpapers, you must have all GoFileRoom Add-Ins installed.

  1. In the Workpapers tab, right-click the workpaper that you want to edit and choose Edit from the context menu. The workpaper opens for editing in its native application.

    You can also double-click a workpaper in the workspace to open it in edit mode. If you prefer, you can change the default behavior so that double-clicking will open workpapers in view mode instead of edit mode. To do this, click the Preferences button in the Workpapers tab, mark the Double-click opens workpaper in view mode checkbox, and click OK.

  2. When you are finished editing the document, click the close button in the upper-right corner of the window.
  3. In the GoFileRoom Office dialog that opens, click one of the following options.
    • Save changes locally
    • Ignore changes 
  4. Click OK.

Note: Workpapers in a finalized engagement cannot be edited.
