Error message

CustomAction CheckIfUserCanceled_End returned actual error code 1157

Cause

The Windows permissions for the user running the installation are not sufficient.

Solution

Use Hidden Administrator

  1. From the Windows Start menu, search for the Command Prompt.
  2. Right-click the Command Prompt option in the Start menu and choose Run as administrator.
  3. In the Command Prompt window, enter net user Administrator /active:yes.
  4. Press ENTER.

Note: If you receive an error message in the command prompt stating that you do not have access to enable this Administrator account, try a different user account. An error during this process may indicate a permissions-related issue which may be causing other issues with the current user account.

  5. Log out of your Windows profile.
  6. Log back in using the Hidden Administrator account.with your current credentials. By default, this user account does not have a password and you aren't required to create one.
  7. Perform the action you were having trouble with (installing or opening an application, for example)
  8. When you're finished using the account, you can disable it by opening the Command Prompt as administrator again, typing net user administrator /active:no and hitting ENTER.
