Unable to Edit PPC documents that open in Microsoft Word

If PPC documents in Microsoft Word 2013 and higher are not available for editing, follow the steps below:

1.  In Microsoft Word, choose File > Options and click the General tab.

2.  In the Startup Items section, verify the Open e-mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view checkbox is cleared. Show me.

3.  In Microsoft Word, chose File > Options > Trust Center and then click the Trust Center Settings button on the right.

4.  Select Trusted Location on the left and verify that C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\PPC location is listed.  

5.  If it is not listed as a Trusted Location, click Add new location on the bottom and browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\PPC to add it.  

6.  Be sure to mark the Subfolders of this location are also trusted checkbox.

7.  Click OK to save your changes.

If you are still experiencing the problem with PPC Word documents that do not allow editing: 

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, locate Checkpoint Tools for PPC on the list of programs installed, and then right-click to run the Repair option.
