Since record retention is vital to your office, Thomson Reuters will never deny you access to your data stored in FileCabinet CS, even if you do not renew your licenses.

You will always be able to view, print, backup, restore, send to file, and send to email any document that exists in FileCabinet CS.

An expired license will not allow you to add additional information to FileCabinet CS, or to upload/download any data through CS Connect. This includes sending any documents to NetClient CS Document Presentation and Source Document Processing, as well as program updates and licenses. Additionally, the expired license will revert to a single-user license, meaning only one user will be able to access data in FileCabinet CS at any given time.

License Disk

Once the product expires, you cannot recreate, download or otherwise acquire licenses. You should create a License Disk as a backup before uninstalling FileCabinet CS.

Terminal server

If you are using a terminal server configuration for the installation of FileCabinet CS, you should install FileCabinet CS on a local machine and restore a backup of the data before the terminal server licenses expire. After your terminal server license expires, you will not be able to open FileCabinet CS except on the local installation.

New installations

You can download old versions of FileCabinet CS here.

Only the year that you were most recently licensed for should be downloaded, as expired licenses are tied to the year of the program they were established under.

Archiving

Archiving features (including restoring an archive) will still work with an expired license.

Support

If you have an expired license and choose not to renew, we will not provide any support until FileCabinet CS is renewed or current.
