Digita FileCabinet menu

From the pull-down menus at the top of the main window, you can choose commands for performing various Digita FileCabinet tasks. Click any of the following links to view the tasks you can perform within each pull-down menu.

  • View document properties, where you can rename documents and specify document folders for document storage.
  • View folder properties when folders are selected in the Folders window.
  • View subfolders for a folder selected in the Folders window.
  • Manage documents (copy, move, or delete multiple documents at once).
  • Copy, cut, paste, rename, and delete documents and annotations.
  • Create or edit annotations on stored documents or images.
  • Adjust the zoom magnification of the document display.
  • Insert client note identifiers.
  • Navigate through previously viewed screens.
  • Search for documents.
  • Refresh the display.
  • Use an attached scanner to scan documents for storage (not available if no TWAIN- or WIA-compliant scanner is present).
  • Copy image files into Digita FileCabinet.
  • Add, edit, or delete image groups for the selected drawer.
  • Rotate the view of a single image file or all image files at once.

Create or edit an object for storage with the other documents and images in the current drawer. (Objects can be created in a variety of formats, including Microsoft Word files, Excel files, Powerpoint files, and so on.)

  • Change password settings.
  • Enable advanced user/group security.
  • Add data locations.
  • Add, edit, or delete folders for document storage.
  • Add default naming buttons for use in the Image Groups dialog.
  • Add frequently used document names to a custom list for use in specified Digita FileCabinet dialogs.
  • Designate folders globally for transmission to Digita NetStaff or Digita NetClient (if licensed).
  • Specify drawers to be contributors to Digita NetClient (if licensed).
  • Select banner page options.
  • Edit application-generated email text.
  • Specify the location for archived documents.
  • Enable Digita Connect background services.
  • Designate which computers are allowed to run Digita Connect background services.
  • Limit the size of the Event History log.
  • Change the default font type and size for drawer and page notes.
  • Set user preferences for various display features.
  • Specify the folder in which Digita FileCabinet saves documents and looks for archived data.
  • Set email signature options.
  • Enter email addresses for each drawer.
  • Access the extensive Digita FileCabinet help topics; link to the Digita website and access application service and support pages, if you have an active internet connection.
  • Contact Support via email.
  • Link to the Adobe website to download and install Adobe Reader
  • Repair the Drawer list.
  • Repair drawer families.
  • Rebuild folder links.
  • Update drawer status.
  • Delete data backups for selected drawers.
  • Open the Conversion utility.
  • Import TINs
  • Rebuild folders
  • Create a license disk.
  • Clear file locks that can restrict access for a user or to a specific screen.
  • Compact drawer data files to eliminate unused file space.
  • View current licensing information.
  • Rebuild the list of drawers.
  • View file details such as name, version, size, date, and time of currently installed application files.

Tip: You can use keyboard shortcuts for many frequently used menu commands, such as New Drawer or Print. When available, keyboard shortcuts are listed next to the commands in each pull-down menu.
