Scan Options dialog

Use this dialog to set scan options for reducing the image size when saved to disk, optimizing the reduced image for colour or black and white pages, and inverting colour for scanned pages.

To open the dialog, choose Image > Scan, and then click the Options button in the Scan Pages dialog.

Fields & buttons

Mark this checkbox to reduce the selected DPI setting. This setting overrides the DPI settings that are set up in your scanning software. Because a smaller image size requires less disk space for storage you can mark the Reduce Image Size on Disk checkbox to minimize the image size, and then select an appropriate DPI value from the available drop-down.

Note: The quality of the image may be reduced below the recommended 400 DPI setting when you scan documents to include in the transfer to Source Document Processing.

Digita FileCabinet can store a reduced, scanned image differently, depending on whether it is in colour or black and white. Click the Color Pages option to retain the colours of the original document. Click the Black and White Pages option if the original document is black and white.

Notes

  • These options are available only if you marked the Reduce Image Size on Disk checkbox.
  • Black and white images take up less storage space on your disk.

With certain scanner drivers, colours are inverted on the pages scanned into Digita FileCabinet (white text on black background). Mark this checkbox to invert colours.

Note: Marking this checkbox does not change settings in your scanning application, so it will not affect the scanning of pages into other applications.
