Inventory Asset List window (Inventory module)

Show expandable text

The Inventory Asset List window opens after you add a new inventory or open an existing inventory for a Fixed Assets CS client. It displays the assets and columns that have been selected for the current inventory.

Note: This window is available only if you are licensed for the Fixed Assets Inventory module. If you are using the evaluation version of the Fixed Assets Inventory module, you can include a maximum of twenty assets in each inventory.

Assets are sorted by asset number, in ascending order, by default. To resort the Inventory Asset List:

  • Click a column heading to resort the assets by that column.
  • Click the Sort Descending Sort Descending button or Sort Ascending Sort Ascending button button to reorder the assets based on the selected column.

Default columns in the Inventory Asset List window

Optional columns you can include in the Inventory Asset List window

Note: To define associations for the client, choose Setup > Associations.

Asset data entry

Note: You cannot delete or cut assets in the Fixed Assets Inventory module. If an asset is disposed (scrapped), enter the appropriate disposal information for the asset by selecting the asset and choosing Edit > Additional Asset Info.

Fields & buttons

Displays the assets that have been selected for the current inventory. (By default, each inventory includes all assets.)

  • To add a new asset, click the Add Asset Add Asset button button. This opens the Add Asset dialog.
  • To edit an existing asset, place your cursor in the appropriate cell and edit the data, or double-click the asset's row number and edit the data in the Asset Detail dialog.

For more information, see Modifying which assets or data are included in an inventory.

Click this button to suspend the current inventory, which means that the changes you made will be saved in the Inventory module, but will not transfer to the client's Fixed Assets CS asset list.

To re-open an active inventory (that is, an inventory that has been suspended but not finalized), choose Tasks > Inventory while in the Fixed Assets CS Asset List window.

Click this button to update the client's Fixed Assets CS asset list with any additions, disposals, or other changes that were made during the inventory.

Once you finalize (or close) an inventory, it cannot be re-opened.
