To export reports to XLS, XLSX (Microsoft Excel) or PDF files, perform the following steps.

  1. Choose File > Print.
  2. In the Print dialog, select the items you want to print.
  3. Mark the Export to checkbox and select Microsoft Excel or PDF from the drop-down list.

    Notes

    • To print a report to additional print destinations simultaneously, mark one or both of the Printer and FileCabinet CS / GoFileRoom / File Drawer checkboxes.
    • You must be licensed for and have installed FileCabinet CS to print to FileCabinet CS.
  4. Verify that the correct data location appears next to the Export to field. If necessary, click the button next to the field to change the data location.

Note: If you're running Fixed Assets CS through Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), you can navigate to a drive on your local network.

  5. Click the Export button at the bottom of the Print dialog.

Note: The name of this button changes depending on which checkboxes are marked. If you also marked the Printer and/or FileCabinet CS / GoFileRoom / FileDrawer checkbox, click either the Printer button or the To Cabinet / To Drawer button to proceed.

  6. If you are exporting a report that is named the same as a file already present in the selected data location, the Overwrite File dialog opens. Click one of the buttons depending on whether you want to overwrite the existing file.
  7. If one or more reports were successfully exported, the File Export Status dialog opens and displays the number of reports that were successfully exported to the specified data location. Click OK to close the File Export Status dialog, or click the Open Target Folder button to open the data location.
