Fixed Assets CS allows individual users to customize the way they use the application. Use this tab to change or review the folders where Fixed Assets CS looks for application and client data files.

To open this tab, choose Setup > User Preferences and click the File Locations tab.

Notes

  • The options in the User Preferences dialog affect the current user, regardless of which client is currently open. All users of a network system may set their own preferences.
  • These options can be changed at any time.
  • When you click OK to save the option settings in this dialog, they remain in effect until changed again.

Fields & buttons

Click this option to show the location of the Fixed Assets CS application files and client data files.

Mark this option to show the location of the CS Accounting Products application files and client data files.

If you want to share client data between Fixed Assets CS and Accounting CS or Creative Solutions Accounting, click this option and make sure the correct file path to your accounting application's client data is specified.

Mark this option to show the location of the FileCabinet CS application files and client data files.

If you want to print documents to FileCabinet CS, click this option and make sure the correct file path to your FileCabinet CS client data is specified.

Note: This option is available only if you are licensed for FileCabinet CS.

Mark this option to show the location of the Practice CS client data files.

Mark this option to display the location of any other application and data files. This list includes the output location for the journal entry export to Microsoft Excel and the GoSystem Tax RS export file.

Lists the applications and data along with their locations, based on the option selected near the top of this dialog.

Click this button to open the Modify Location dialog in which you can change the location of the files currently highlighted in the File Types and Locations list.

Note: This button is not available if the Fixed Assets CS option is selected and the application location is highlighted, because you must uninstall and reinstall Fixed Assets CS to change the location of the application files.
