Installing Lotus Notes server scripts

Show expandable text

To use custom menu items and custom scripting features available with the Lotus Notes Add-In you must install the GoFileRoom Lotus Notes server scripts.

Follow these steps to install the Lotus Notes server scripts and implement custom menu items and custom scripting for the Lotus Notes Add-In.

Note: Because this procedure requires access to the Master Template database, these tasks should be performed by your firms's Lotus Administrator only.

  1. Click your name in the upper-right corner of the screen and choose Lotus Notes Server Scripts from the drop-down list.
  2. Save the GFR LN Components.nsf file to your desktop, or to a folder on your hard drive.
  3. Run Lotus Domino Designer and log on as an administrator. You will need to open two databases: the GoFileRoom components file (GFR LN Components.nsf), and the Master Template file (mail6.ntf, for example) on your server.
  4. In the GFR LN Components database, expand the Forms group and select Form Actions.
  5. Right-click the GoFileRoom label, select Copy from the context menu, locate your firm's template, and expand the Forms group. Open each form in which you want the GoFileRoom menu to appear (typically the Memo form and the Reply form.)
  6. Right-click and paste the GoFileRoom menu at the bottom of your current menu. Remember to save each of the updated forms when you are done.
  7. In the GFR LN Components database, expand the Shared Code group and select Script Libraries to access the custom GoFileRoom script module (GFRIntegration).
  8. Right-click the GFR Integration label and choose Copy from the context menu, go to your firms's template, expand Shared Code, and select Script Libraries.
  9. In the right-hand pane, right-click and paste the GoFileRoom module into your firm's Script Libraries.

  • We recommend that you allow the Lotus Notes server to automatically refresh the user databases overnight after applying these changes to your Master Template.
  • For instructions on setting up an automated refresh, please refer to your Lotus Notes documentation.
