The GoFileRoom TaxSort feature uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to identify 1040 source documents. TaxSort recognizes many document types, including W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements, and more. After identifying documents, GoFileRoom organizes them in the resulting PDF with pre-configured bookmarks. Show me.

Pre-configured bookmarks

Verify that your scanner has been configured for optimal OCR results prior to scanning 1040 source documents for TaxSort processing.

If your firm is licensed for TaxSort, submitting source documents for identification and sorting is as easy as printing a TaxSort bookmark separator page and placing it on top of your source documents prior to scanning them.

If you are using enhanced search features, you can submit PDFs that are already stored in GoFileRoom by selecting them in the search results list, right-clicking, and choosing TaxSort from the right-click menu.

Note: GoFileRoom locks documents during the identification and organization process. TaxSort processing typically takes a few minutes, but can take up to three hours.
