If you have the appropriate access privileges, you can modify PDF documents stored in GoFileRoom. Features for modifying PDFs include the ability to edit bookmarks, insert pages, and create and manage annotations.

Notes

  • In addition to having appropriate permissions, the associated drawer must be enabled for PDF modification, the full version of Adobe Acrobat is required, and the GoFileRoom Adobe Acrobat Add-In must be installed prior to using this feature.
  • When a PDF document is checked out, it is locked. Locked PDFs cannot be checked out for editing; indexes cannot be modified; and the document cannot be deleted.

Follow these steps to modify a PDF document stored in GoFileRoom.

  1. Search for the PDF.
  2. In the search results list, mark the checkbox for the PDF that you want to edit.
  3. Right-click and choose Edit (if you're using the Document Explorer) or Edit Document (if you're using the classic search features) from the context menu.
  4. The document opens in Adobe Acrobat, where you can make modifications as needed.
  5. When you are done updating the PDF, choose File > Exit.
  6. In the dialog that opens, click one of the following save options.
    • Save to GoFileRoom: If you Save to GoFileRoom, you can save the document using version control. To do so, mark the As new version (v2) checkbox and add a description in the Description field.
    • Ignore changes
  7. Click OK.
