Removing paired accounts from the Authenticator app

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) requires that a mobile device be paired using the Authenticator app. If you decide to disable MFA for an account, you will want to remove the old account from the Authenticator app.

To do so, complete the following steps for your respective device:

Android and Amazon Fire devices

  1. Open the Authenticator app on your device.
  2. Tap Generate code.
  3. In the Generate code screen, press and hold on the account you wish to remove.
  4. When prompted, tap remove.

Apple devices

  1. Open the Authenticator app on your device.
  2. Tap Generate code.
  3. In the Generate code screen, swipe the account you wish to remove to the left.
