Handling forgotten passwords for NetStaff CS, NetClient CS and Web Employee portals

Show expandable text

There are two options to reset a password for a NetStaff CS, NetClient CS or Web Employee portal.  You can have the password sent to you by email, or you can set up security questions to enable automatic reset of your password.  For more information about setting up security questions, see Setting security questions.  If you need to modify another NetStaff CS or NetClient CS users password, see Modifying a user’s login, password, name, or email address.

Resetting your password from the login screen

  1. On the www.netlinksolution.com login page click on the Forgot password link.
  2. Enter your login and the email address used with your login.
  3. Choose one of the following options, then click OK
  1. If you have entered the correct login and email you will receive a password reset message saying that your new password was sent to your registered email address.  The email is sent from no-reply@thomsonreuters.com.

  2. Click Close to the message.

  3. Check your email for the temporary password and log in again.  You will be prompted to update your password.

If you are having problems receiving the email message with the temporary password, it's likely that your email program blocked the incoming message or the email address that you entered doesn't match the email address in the Edit Account dialog. You'll need to contact your firm's portal administrator to request a new password.

Note: If you are the portal administrator and you cannot log in, call 1-800-968-0600 to talk to a Support representative.

Note: If you receive the me message, "You have not setup personal security questions. Please select the 'Reset via email' option or contact your administrator." you will need to select the email option or have your administrator reset your password.  We recommend that you setup your security questions once you have your password reset.   See Setting security questions for more information.

  1. Enter the answers to your four security questions.

  2. Click OK.

  3. If you did not answer all questions correctly, you will be prompted to answer the questions again. If you successfully answered all questions, you will be prompted to enter a new password and confirm the password. After you enter the new password, click OK.

  4. You will be redirected to your login page; enter your login and new password to log in.

If you can not reset your password via email or security questions, contact your firm administrator or a NetStaff CS account with administrator permissions. They can follow these steps to reset NetClient CS or NetStaff CS passwords.
