Migrating Planner CS data to Virtual Office CS or SaaS

Complete the following procedures to move Planner CS data from a local or network drive to Virtual Office CS or SaaS.

Back up data from your local installation of Planner CS

  1. Create a folder on your local hard drive named UTPbackups.
  2. Open your local installation of Planner CS.
  3. Choose File > Backup.
  4. Use the tabs in the Backup / Check Out dialog to back up client plans, report sets, custom reports, watch window templates, report layouts, graphs, or letter templates as needed. In each tab, highlight the item you want to back up and click the Select button, or click the Select All button.
  5. When you are done selecting items to back up, click the Done button to open the Backup To dialog.
  6. In the Backup To dialog, navigate to C:\UTPbackups and click Save.
  7. Close the local installation of Planner CS.

Restore data into the Virtual Office CS or SaaS installation of Planner CS

  1. Click the Applications button in the NetStaff tab of the navigation pane.

    Note: If you don’t see this link, you don’t have access to applications through Virtual Office CS or SaaS.

  2. In the Virtual Office CS screen, click the Planner CS icon to open the application.
  3. In Planner CS, choose File > Restore > From a Planner CS Backup.
  4. In the Restore Backup From dialog, navigate to the UTPbackups folder on your local C:\ drive and click the Open button.

    Note: In the Virtual Office CS or SaaS environment, C$ on Client (V:) is your local C:\ drive.

  5. Use the tabs in the Restore / Check In dialog to restore the appropriate items. In each tab, highlight the item you want to restore and click the Select button, or click the Select All button.
  6. When you are done selecting items to restore, click the Done button.

You are now ready to work in Planner CS in the Virtual Office CS or SaaS environment.
