In order to set Chrome to launch application.ica file automatically, right-click the application.ica button and choose Always open files of this type.

If Chrome is set to "Always open files of this type," Chrome will save only 100 application.ica files in the Downloads folder. When attempting to open the 100th application.ica file, Chrome will prompt to "Save as." This may also limit only one application to be open at a time.  When attempting to open the second program, a session conflict error indicating that a user is already running the program will occur.  The Downloads folder will need to be periodically cleared in Windows Explorer to avoid this situation.

  1. Open Windows Explorer, pressing the Windows key and letter E on your keyboard.
  2. Navigate to the Downloads folder.  The Downloads folder is often found under Favorites or C:\Users\username\Downloads.

This will not be resolved by clearing the downloads section in the browser.

  3. Delete all .ica files from the Downloads folder.
