Using Checkpoint's Form/Line Finder research

Planner CS integrates Form/Line Finder research from Checkpoint for 1040 Individual forms, which you can access while a plan is open in Planner CS.

Note: You must subscribe to Checkpoint and have a connection to the internet in order to use this feature.

  1. Choose File > Open to open an existing plan, or choose File > New to create a new plan.
  2. In the federal module, select the tab for which you want to find research information. For example, to research capital gains and losses, click the Income button and then click the Cap Gain/Loss tab.
  3. Choose View > Web Research > Checkpoint or right-click and choose Checkpoint from the context menu.

Note: If you have not logged into Checkpoint through Planner CS before, the Checkpoint dialog will open for you to enter your user name and password.

  4. Click the Research button.
  5. Checkpoint opens in a browser window, and the research topic will open if Checkpoint provides a topic for the specific tab you selected.
