CS Connect: Unable to Decrypt Incoming File Error Within CS Professional Suite of Products

Follow the instructions below to alleviate this error for your product.

Creative Solutions Accounting

  1. Close the program.
  2. Right-click on Start and select Explore.
  3. Navigate to X:\WinCSI\CSA\Updates, where X is the drive where the program is installed.
  4. Delete the contents of the Updates directory.
  5. Re-open the program and connect to CS Connect to re-download the updates. Try to apply them again after the download is complete.

Note: If the updates continue to fail, verify the version of FileCabinet, Fixed Assets, or CSA. Updates on any/all of these applications may need to be completed to allow Creative Solutions Accounting to be updated.

Important! For those that are trying to apply the updates, users need to have full control security permissions to the CSA, CSAData and CSASys folders.

FileCabinet CS

  1. Close the program.
  2. Right-click on Start and select Explore.
  3. Navigate to X:\WinCSI\Cabinet\Updates, where X is the drive where the program is installed.
  4. Delete the contents of the Updates directory.
  5. Re-open the program and connect to CS Connect to re-download the updates. Try to apply them again after the download is complete.

Note: If the updates continue to fail, verify the version of FileCabinet, Fixed Assets, or CSA. Updates on any/all of these applications may need to be completed to allow FileCabinet CS to be updated.

Important! For those that are trying to apply the updates, users need to have full control security permissions to the Cabinet, FCabData and FCabSys folders.

Fixed Assets CS

  1. Open the program.
  2. Click Help / Repair / Misc and click the Clear Updates Directory button.
  3. Close and re-open the program and connect to CS Connect to re-download the updates. Try to apply them again after the download is complete.

Note: If the updates continue to fail, verify the version of FileCabinet, Fixed Assets, or CSA. Updates on any/all of these applications may need to be completed to allow Fixed Assets CS to be updated.

Important! For those that are trying to apply the updates, users need to have full control security permissions to the DSW, DeprData and DeprSys folders.

Practice CS

  1. Close the program.
  2. Right-click on Start and select Explore.
  3. Navigate to X:\WinCSI\Practice CS\Updates, where X is the drive where the program is installed.
  4. Delete the contents of the Updates directory.
  5. Re-open the program and connect to CS Connect to re-download the updates. Try to apply them again after the download is complete.

Note: If the updates continue to fail, verify the version of FileCabinet, Fixed Assets, or CSA. Updates on any/all of these applications may need to be completed to allow Practice CS to be updated.

ToolBox CS

  1. Close the program.
  2. Right-click on Start and select Explore.
  3. Navigate to X:\WinCSI\ToolBox CS\Updates, where X is the drive where the program is installed.
  4. Delete the contents of the Updates directory.
  5. Re-open the program and connect to CS Connect to re-download the updates. Try to apply them again after the download is complete.

Note: If the updates continue to fail, verify the version of FileCabinet, Fixed Assets, or CSA. Updates on any/all of these applications may need to be completed to allow ToolBox CS to be updated.

UltraTax CS

  1. Close the program.
  2. Right-click on Start and select Explore.
  3. Navigate to X:\WinCSI\UTYY\Updates, where X is the drive where the program is installed and YY is the year of the program.
  4. Delete the contents of the Updates directory.
  5. Re-open the program and connect to CS Connect to re-download the updates. Try to apply them again after the download is complete.

For 2010 UltraTax CS and future versions, you can access Help / Repair / Misc and click Clear Updates Directory.

Note: If the updates continue to fail, verify the version of FileCabinet, Fixed Assets, or CSA. Updates on any/all of these applications may need to be completed to allow UltraTax CS to be updated.

Important! For those that are trying to apply the updates, users need to have full control security permissions to the UTyy, UTyyData and UTyySys folders. (yy=year of the program)

Planner CS

  1. Close the program.
  2. Right-click on Start and select Explore.
  3. Navigate to X:\WinCSI\UTP\Updates, where X is the drive where the program is installed.
  4. Delete the contents of the Updates directory.
  5. Re-open the program and connect to CS Connect to re-download the updates. Try to apply them again after the download is complete.

Note: If the updates continue to fail, verify the version of FileCabinet, Fixed Assets, or CSA. Updates on any/all of these applications may need to be completed to allow Planner CS to be updated.
