If you are licensed for FileCabinet CS, use the Export Staff screen to export staff information to FileCabinet CS. You can also export staff to a standalone XML file.

To export staff, follow these steps.

  1. Choose File > Export > Staff to open the Export Staff screen.
  2. Mark one or both of the checkboxes to select a destination for the exported staff:
    • FileCabinet CS — Mark this checkbox if you want to export staff to FileCabinet CS. If you have more than one FileCabinet CS data location set up, select one from the drop-down list. A new drawer is created in FileCabinet CS for each exported staff member.

If you want to create a Practice CS folder in each new FileCabinet CS staff drawer, mark the Create a Practice CS folder in FileCabinet CS Clients checkbox. This checkbox is not available unless you have marked the FileCabinet CS checkbox.

    • Other — Mark this checkbox to export staff to a standalone XML file. Click the More More button button and navigate to the folder where you want the XML file to be saved.

Note: If you’re running Practice CS through Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), you can navigate to files on your local network.

  3. If you want to narrow down the list of staff to be exported, select a filter from the drop-down list in the Filter field. To create a custom filter using criteria that you specify, click the More More button button. See Filtering your data for more information on creating custom filters.

Note: To remove an applied filter, click the Red X button.

  4. Click the Export Selected button to export the staff to FileCabinet CS and/or to an XML file.

Note: This button is not available unless you have marked the checkbox for at least one staff member in the list.
