If you are licensed for FileCabinet CS, use the Export Staff screen to export staff information to FileCabinet CS. You can also export staff to a standalone XML file.
To export staff, follow these steps.
- Choose File > Export > Staff to open the Export Staff screen.
- Mark one or both of the checkboxes to select a destination for the exported staff:
- FileCabinet CS — Mark this checkbox if you want to export staff to FileCabinet CS. If you have more than one FileCabinet CS data location set up, select one from the drop-down list. A new drawer is created in FileCabinet CS for each exported staff member.
If you want to create a Practice CS folder in each new FileCabinet CS staff drawer, mark the Create a Practice CS folder in FileCabinet CS Clients checkbox. This checkbox is not available unless you have marked the FileCabinet CS checkbox.
- Other — Mark this checkbox to export staff to a standalone XML file. Click the More button and navigate to the folder where you want the XML file to be saved.
Note: If you’re running Practice CS through Virtual Office CS or Software as a Service (SaaS), you can navigate to files on your local network.
- FileCabinet CS — Mark this checkbox if you want to export staff to FileCabinet CS. If you have more than one FileCabinet CS data location set up, select one from the drop-down list. A new drawer is created in FileCabinet CS for each exported staff member.
- If you want to narrow down the list of staff to be exported, select a filter from the drop-down list in the Filter field. To create a custom filter using criteria that you specify, click the More button. See Filtering your data for more information on creating custom filters.
Note: To remove an applied filter, click the button.
- Click the Export Selected button to export the staff to FileCabinet CS and/or to an XML file.
Note: This button is not available unless you have marked the checkbox for at least one staff member in the list.
