MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the electronic filing transmission feature in CS Connect.

Use the state tabs at the bottom of the Apportionment Information window to enter state-specific apportionment information. State tabs appear only if you have added states to the return and if additional apportionment information is required.

To enter state-specific apportionment information, click the appropriate state tab at the bottom of the Apportionment Information window.

Fields & buttons

General information group box

UltraTax CS uses the information you enter in this group box to complete form fields and answer questions that are not addressed in the Apportionment spreadsheet.

Has reporting of apportionment income changed from a prior year? (C Corp)

Enter 1 if the reporting of apportionment income changed from a prior year. UltraTax CS marks the related Yes box on the form. Otherwise, enter 2 or leave the field blank and UltraTax CS automatically marks the No box. You can enter the number directly or select from the drop-down list.

Election to use special method of apportionment for tax year ending

Enter the date that written notification was submitted.

Effective date of the election

Enter the effective date of the election.

Special method elected

Enter 1 if electing a special method for a manufacturing company. UltraTax CS marks the related field on the form and uses the manufacturing apportionment method to calculate the average factor. Enter 2 if electing a special method for a headquarters operation. UltraTax CS marks the related field on the form and uses only the sales factor to calculate the average factor. You can enter the number directly or select it from the drop-down list.
