MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the electronic filing transmission feature in CS Connect.

Thomson Reuters is committed to proactively evolving our security features to help you protect your firm and your clients' data. For more information about multi-factor authentication, see Multi-factor authentication overview.

When I create an extension for a fiscal-year filer, why does Form 7004, line 5a show the return is a calendar and fiscal year return?

UltraTax CS completes both the calendar year and tax year beginning and ending date fields for fiscal-year clients to be consistent with the dates at the top of Form 1120. The IRS does not update the extension form every year, so the application reflects the current tax year on Form 7004.
