MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the electronic filing transmission feature in CS Connect.

Thomson Reuters is committed to proactively evolving our security features to help you protect your firm and your clients' data. For more information about multi-factor authentication, see Multi-factor authentication overview.

When you enter MACRS assets in the asset module, the cursor in the Depreciation tab advances from the Life field of the Tax column to the Sec 179 Expense field of the Tax column. For some MACRS assets, you will need to enter information in the ADS Life field of the AMT column, which is skipped by default.

To have the cursor move to this field for all MACRS assets before proceeding to the Sec 179 Expense field, perform the following steps.

  1. Choose Setup > User Preferencesasset module to set user preferences.)
  2. In the Data Entry tab, mark the Visit ADS Life field for MACRS assets checkbox.
  3. Click OK.
