Once you have either entered the name of a new search or selected an existing custom search to edit, you will edit search criteria that you believe will gain the search results you desire. When you edit search criteria, you specify the pieces of data that are relevant to the search of the client database you selected from the Data Mining window. Search criteria are then selected and combined into logical combinations (called search formulas) to form searches. Clients pass a search when their data meets the search criteria and search formula you have defined.

When you have a clear idea of what type of clients you are searching for and what criteria those clients have in common, define the search criteria that are most relevant to the clients you want to find.
