Question
How do I extend FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR)?
Answer
No action is required in UltraTax CS to extend FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR) since specific requests for this extension are not required.
The Surface Transportation and Veterans Health Care Choice Improvement Act of 2015, Public Law 114-41 (the Act) mandated a six-month extension of the filing deadline for FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR). According to the New FBAR Due Date Announcement (12-16-16), FinCEN will grant filers failing to meet the annual due date of April 15 (April 17, 2018) an automatic extension to October 15 (October 15, 2018).
