Error Code F1040-021-01: If Schedule A (Form 1040) is present in the return, then Form 1040, Line 40 'TotalItemizedOrStandardDedAmt' must be equal to Schedule A (Form 1040), Line 29 'TotalItemizedDeductionsAmt'.

Verify that Form 1040, Line 40 is equal to Schedule A, Line 29.  In most cases, returns that receive this rejection are opting to take the standard deduction, but have Schedule A forced to print.  If this return is opting to take the standard deduction, then switch to forms view by right-clicking and choosing Switch to Form.  Locate the Schedule A folder in the folders block.  If the Schedule A folder contains red lines, then it is forced to print.  To remove the force, make sure you have the Schedule A folder highlighted, and then choose Edit > Overrides > Force Form To Print.
