MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

Error Code F8853-514-01: Form 8853, Line 14b 'LTCInsuredSSN' and 'LTCInsuredNameControlTxt' must match data in the e-File database.

If this error occurs without the presence of Error Code(s) R0000-500 or R0000-503, it could be as a result of an incorrect entry of the Insured's social security number or suffix at the end of the Insured's name field on Screen 1099SA, located under the Health Care folder. The proper data entry for a suffix is to enter the last name, followed by a comma, then the suffix without a period (i.e. Smith, Jr). If the suffix is entered as "Smith Jr" UltraTax CS will determine the last name control for the client to be "JR" instead of "SMIT" as it should be, which would result in Error Code F8853-514. Therefore, entering a comma at the end of the last name should resolve the rejection.

However, if it occurs in the presence of ERC R0000-500 or R0000-503, ERC F8853-514 was issued for the same reason as ERC R0000-500 or R0000-503, depending on whether the taxpayer (R0000-500) or spouse ( R0000-503) was claimed as the chronically ill individual on Form 8853.
