Error Code R0000-057-01: Every attached file (i.e. binary attachment) must be referenced by the XML document that represents it.
This rejection refers to PDF attachments included with the e-file of the rejected return. Take the following action when attempting to resolve this:
- Shorten the name(s) of the attachment(s)
- Remove any spaces in the name(s) of the attachment(s)
- Remove any special characters (i.e. non-alphabetic and non-numeric) from the name(s) of the attachment(s)
- Verify that the PDF attachment(s) are still located in the location specified in the Modify Electronic Filing Attachment dialog, which can be accessed by clicking Edit > Electronic Filing Attachments; select an attachment and then choose Edit. Review and verify the information in the Attachment file source section; correct as needed.
Once the changes have been made, re-create and resubmit the electronic file.
