MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

Note: Follow these steps only if you are using advanced security options, rather than the standard options.

By default, all unassigned users are assigned to the $Guests group. To assign these users to another group, complete the following steps.

  1. Choose Setup > Security, and enter the master password.
  2. In the Security tab, click one of the following options.
    • Click the Assign unknown users to option, and select the group to which you want to assign unknown users from the adjacent drop-down list.
    • Click the Do not allow unknown users to access UltraTax CS option. If you choose this option, any user who has not been assigned to a group will not be able to access UltraTax CS.
  3. Click OK.
