MFA required for electronic filing

Effective May 3rd, the 2017 version of UltraTax CS requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to transmit e-files from CS Connect. Find out more.

A master password is used to restrict access to security options and other configuration settings in UltraTax CS. Complete the appropriate task to create a new master password or to modify or remove an existing password.

Notes

  • You must create a master password to use all security options.
  • If you forget the master password, you can get a temporary password from CS Customer Service by calling 800.968.0600 and following the prompts.

Creating a master password

If you have not already defined a master password, follow these steps to create one.

  1. Choose Setup > Security.
  2. Enter a password in the New Password and Verify fields on the Add Master Password dialog.
  3. Click OK.

Modifying an existing master password

Follow these steps to modify or remove an existing password.

  1. Choose Setup > Security.
  2. Enter the existing master password in the Master Password field and click the Modify button.
  3. In the Modify Master Password dialog, enter the new password in both the New password and Verify fields.
  4. Click OK.
