Do I need to attach Form 7004 to the electronic file?

Answer

You do not need to attach Form 7004 to the electronic file. Form 5500 is generally due seven months after the plan year ends, unless the plan administrator files for an extension. Extensions may be granted either through filing Form 5558 or by relying on a previously-filed corporate income tax extension (Form 7004). Note that the time granted for an extension is different for each form.
