New (tax) year, new help!

When you enter assets, the application automatically assigns the next available asset number higher than any other number within the activity. Perform the steps in this procedure to have the application automatically assign the lowest available number rather than the next available number. For example, if an asset is reassigned or disposed, the application will reuse that asset's number and assign it to a new asset when the number is the lowest available number.

1. Choose Setup > User Preferences. (This command is available only when the asset module is not open.)
2. In the Data Entry tab, clear the Assign asset numbers in the sequence assets are entered checkbox.
3. Click OK.
